"The new fluorescent lights enhance the color of the merchandise. I invite you to come to the store to take a look at the new energy efficient lighting that was installed through San Francisco Energy Watch."
- Steve Lombardi Jr., Lombardi Sports
Family-owned and operated since 1948, Lombardi Sports offers two levels of active gear and apparel in its 70,000-square-foot store. Lombardi Sports has a team of well-trained professionals, offers health and sports seminars and is Bay Area's local retailer carrying a wide variety of athletic equipment, apparel and expertise.
Lombardi replaced approximately 250 metal halides with T8 fixtures with electronic ballast in the retail store and in the garage. Timers were also installed, which added about 10 to 20% efficiency. These energy-efficient upgrades cut Lombardi's utility bill by about half within the first year after the installation was completed.
Lombardi used the services of a San Francisco Energy Watch participating lighting contractor making the entire process easy and convenient. The high incentives and technical expertise prompted Lombardi to take advantage of the San Francisco Energy Watch program.
